How we Retip or Reclaw your Jewellery
Our meticulous jewellery retipping or reclawing process involves carefully examining your jewellery piece, identifying worn or damaged claws. If the stone is not a diamond, sapphire or ruby they may need to be removed as they will not take the heat of the retipping/reclawing process. After carefully removing the stone, we reshape or rebuild the prongs and then secure the stone back in place. If retipping we just adjust the very tip of the claw. If reclawing we rebuild the entire claw.Our skilled craftsmen use precision tools and techniques to ensure a seamless retipping and reclawing service, preserving the beauty and structural integrity of your cherished jewellery.

How long does the retipping or reclawing process take?
The duration depends on the complexity of the repair, and the number of claws that need retipping or reclawing. Our goal is to complete the process within 2 weeks of receiving your item. Once we receive your item, we will send you an email with a quote and a date when we expect to have your item in the post back to you.
Is retipping and reclawing suitable for all types of jewellery?

What materials are used in the retipping and reclawing process?
We tip or claw your items in matching precious metal. So platinum will be retipped/reclawed with platinum. We then use the highest quality appropriate solder for each metal which is dependant on your metal’s strength and melting point.

Our jewellery reclawing and jewellery retipping service start from £40. It is dependant on how many claws need repair, the type of metal and if the item will need stones removing.
